Our charity golf tournament is our main funding source throughout the year. Every year an average of 90-120 golfers play in our tournament. All proceeds go to the KIC Foundation and we also give 10% of our earnings to a charity of our choice. There are a couple of ways that you are able to support the KIC Foundation through our Golf Tournament: You can register and pay to play in the tournament, donate items for the silent auction, or be a sponsor for the event.
Every year New Creations in Christ collects hundreds of dollars in donations from their volunteers and donates them to Indio Juvenile Hall and the Youth Treatment and Education Center. The money goes to purchasing gifts for the youth for Christmas. The Volunteers come in and help wrap gifts and sing Christmas Carrols to the youth.
Thanks to the program, Indio has read over 70,000 pages in their 1st year and received more than 200 books for our youth.
Programming topics include drug and alcohol abuse; teen sex and STDs; pregnancy and teen parents; depression; anger management; domestic violence; gangs and criminal behavior; life skills; and the benefits of remedial and higher education.
KIC paid for Author Simone Elekes to visit with the youth.
